Replacement Spa Jets by Approximate Shell Hole Size
If the original Chinese jet is obsolete, one of the most common retrofit options is to replace the complete jet body with a current CMP jet system.

Chinese Spa Jet Identification & Replacement Guide
Replacement jets for Chinese-made spas can be significantly more difficult to identify than jets manufactured by long-established spa component companies.
There is no single standard for a “Chinese spa jet”. Different spa factories use different fitting manufacturers, and the same spa manufacturer may use several different jet systems across different models, production years or factory runs.
Brands and spa manufacturers commonly encountered in the Australian market include names such as Sunrans, Spas Direct, Sunseal Garden Spas, Jellyward, Jazzi, Angus and Winer, together with many other imported spa brands and factory-built spas.
The name on the spa itself does not necessarily identify who manufactured the jets. A spa manufacturer may purchase jets, suctions, air controls, water diverters, waterfalls and other fittings from a separate component manufacturer.
Why Are Chinese Spa Jets So Difficult to Replace?
One of the major problems with replacement Chinese spa fittings is continuity of manufacture.
Some fitting manufacturers may produce a quantity of components for a particular spa production run. Once those fittings have been supplied, the tooling may no longer be used for that exact component. The mould may be changed, modified or repurposed for another fitting.
This creates a very different replacement-parts environment from long-established brands that maintain established jet families for many years.
A spa may therefore be only several years old while a particular jet insert, suction fitting, air control or diverter is already unavailable.
Chinese Spa Jet Manufacturers and Component Suppliers
Chinese spa factories frequently source components from specialist fitting manufacturers. This means the name printed on the spa is often not the name of the jet manufacturer.
Examples of Chinese spa fitting manufacturers include LVJ, Rising Dragon and Jazzi, along with numerous other suppliers.
Parts availability varies enormously between manufacturers and even between different generations of fittings from the same manufacturer.
LVJ Spa Jets and Fittings
LVJ is one of the better-known Chinese manufacturers of spa jets and fittings. LVJ components can be found in a variety of Chinese-manufactured spas.
We stock and can identify some LVJ jets and fittings, but this does not mean every LVJ fitting has a current replacement.
LVJ has produced different versions and revisions of components over time. Small changes to locking tabs, retaining lugs, jet body dimensions or internal engagement points can result in two visually similar LVJ jets being incompatible.
Where an older LVJ jet insert is obsolete, replacing the complete jet body with a current CMP or other established fitting may be the most practical solution.
Rising Dragon, Jazzi and Other Chinese Fittings
Other manufacturers such as Rising Dragon and Jazzi have also supplied spa jets and fittings used in Chinese-manufactured spas.
Historical parts support can be limited, and obtaining definitive compatibility information for discontinued fittings can be difficult. In some cases, replacement enquiries to the original manufacturer do not produce useful information.
For this reason, a moulded brand name is useful for identification but does not guarantee that the original replacement component remains available.
Sunrans Spa Jets and Fittings
Sunrans is an example of a Chinese spa manufacturer that may use fittings supplied by third-party component manufacturers.
This means a customer searching for a “Sunrans spa jet” may actually need to identify an LVJ or another manufacturer's jet fitted to that particular Sunrans spa.
Some replacement parts are available. Others are obsolete, have changed design or cannot be supplied as direct replacements.
Spas Direct Spa Jets
For spas sold under brands or retailers such as Spas Direct, the spa brand alone is generally not sufficient to identify the correct jet.
The physical jet, jet body, locking arrangement and plumbing need to be identified. Different models and different production periods can use different components.
When contacting us regarding a Spas Direct jet, please provide the spa model where known, photographs of the jet removed from the body, markings on the fitting and accurate measurements.
Sunseal Garden Spas, Jellyward, Angus and Winer Spa Jets
The same identification process applies to spas branded or manufactured under names such as Sunseal Garden Spas, Jellyward, Angus and Winer.
These names can assist with identification, but the actual jet manufacturer and fitting dimensions remain the most important information when determining whether a direct replacement is available.
We do not recommend purchasing a jet simply because the face looks similar to the one fitted to your spa.
Why Spa Jet Face Diameter Is Not Enough
Measuring only the visible diameter of the spa jet is rarely sufficient to identify it.
Two jet inserts may both have a 100mm face, for example, but have completely different:
- Insert diameters
- Insert lengths
- Bayonet fittings
- Locking tabs
- Retaining lugs
- Thread arrangements
- Jet body designs
- Internal seals
The important dimensions are normally behind the decorative jet face.
What Information Do We Need to Identify a Chinese Spa Jet?

Direct Replacement Jet vs Complete Jet Body Replacement
Direct Replacement Jet Insert
A direct replacement jet insert fits into the jet body already installed through the spa shell.
This is the simplest option, but it is only possible where the original fitting or a confirmed compatible replacement is still manufactured.
Complete Jet Body Retrofit
Where the original jet insert is obsolete, the alternative is often to replace the complete jet assembly.
This normally includes:
- New jet insert
- New jet body
- New retaining nut
- New seal or gasket
The existing water and air plumbing may need to be cut and adapted to connect to the replacement body.
Access behind the spa shell is normally required.
In some cases, the original shell hole may already suit a current replacement body. In other cases, modification may be required. This must be checked before purchasing or modifying the spa.
CMP Replacement Jets for Chinese Spas
CMP, or Custom Molded Products, is one of our most common choices for replacing obsolete Chinese spa jets.
CMP manufactures established families of spa jets in several physical sizes, making it possible to retrofit many spas where an original Chinese jet is no longer obtainable.
The approximate shell-hole guides are:

- 38mm: CMP 200 Series
These dimensions should be treated as an initial guide only. Always check the actual dimensions and plumbing specification of the selected jet body.

The main advantage is long-term serviceability.
Established component manufacturers generally maintain identifiable product ranges, dimensional information and replacement parts for considerably longer periods.
No manufacturer can guarantee that every fitting will remain available forever, but a recognised component system gives the spa owner a substantially better chance of obtaining compatible service parts in the future.

Are Chinese spa jets universal?
No. There is no universal Chinese spa jet standard. Jets of the same visible size can use completely different inserts, locking systems and jet bodies.
Can I replace a Chinese spa jet with a CMP jet?
Often, yes, but usually by replacing the complete jet body rather than simply inserting a CMP jet into the original Chinese body. The shell hole, plumbing size and available clearance must be checked first.
What size spa jet do I need?
The visible face diameter alone does not determine compatibility. You need to identify the existing jet insert and body or measure the shell hole and plumbing if considering a complete retrofit.
Why can’t I find a replacement for my old spa jet?

Can you find Sunrans replacement jets?
We have replacement options for some jets found in Sunrans spas. However, Sunrans spas can use fittings manufactured by third-party suppliers, so the actual jet must be identified rather than relying only on the Sunrans name.
Can you find Spas Direct replacement jets?
We can identify some fittings used in spas sold under the Spas Direct name, but the brand alone does not determine which jet system is installed. Photos, markings and dimensions are required where the replacement has not already been confirmed.
Do you stock LVJ spa jets?
We stock and have access to some LVJ spa jets and fittings. However, there have been variations and revisions over time, and not every older LVJ fitting has a current direct replacement.
What should I do if my Chinese spa jet is obsolete?
If a direct replacement is unavailable, measure the hole through the spa shell and the connected air and water plumbing. We can then assess whether a current CMP or another established fitting system is suitable as a complete replacement.
Should I replace all my spa jets at once?
