Trade Pricing & Accounts Policy and Why Technicians and Tradespeople Should Charge More
We’re often asked if we offer trade pricing or accounts. The short answer? No, we can’t — and here’s why:
Heater & Spa Parts is a retail-focused business, and most of our products are already heavily discounted from standard retail prices. We price everything as sharply as we can, and that same pricing is available to everyone — whether you’re a pool shop, technician, or a DIY customer.
To keep things simple, streamlined, and costs down, we don’t offer trade accounts, process purchase orders, or issue invoices.
Just order directly from the product page. Fast, easy, done.
If you’re in the industry and shop with us regularly — awesome, we’re glad to have you. But offering further discounts would mean raising prices for everyone else, and that’s not how we roll. :)
Thanks for your understanding — and for keeping it simple with us!
Please don’t compare our pricing with that of technicians or tradespeople.
They rightly charge more — and they should.
Running a mobile service business isn’t cheap. Fuel, tools, vehicle costs, insurance, admin time, travel, training, call-outs, and warranty support all add up — fast. On top of that, a good technician brings years of experience, troubleshooting skills, and the peace of mind that comes with professional service.
Any tradesperson who’s doing the job properly must build those costs into their pricing. If they don’t, they go broke — it’s that simple. There’s no long-term value in being the “cheapest” if it means cutting corners, burning out, or disappearing when things go wrong.
So while our retail pricing might sometimes look lower than what a technician charges, you’re not comparing apples with apples. They’re not just selling a product — they’re selling knowledge, service, and support. And that’s worth paying for.
We’re here to support everyone — DIYers, pool shops, service techs, and tradespeople — but we each play a different role. Fair pricing and sustainable business models are how we all stay in business.
