Increases total alkalinity and pH levels in spas. Also known as Sodium Bicarbonate, Buffer, Bicarb. Acts as a pH buffer to prevent extreme pH shifts.

Ideal TA level is usually 80-150ppm. Low Total Alkalinity can cause damage to plastics, heaters, seals, and pumps.

  • 200g will raise Total Alkalinity by 10ppm per 10,000 liters
  • 20g will raise TA by 10pp per 1,000 litres
  • (200gm will bring TA to 100ppm for 1,000 litres)

  • Handy PVC Plumbing Size Info

    Plumbing sizes can be confusing. Pressure PVC pipe use nominal sizes - the size is simple a name, not the measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.

    • 50mm / 2" = ~60-61mm OD
    • 40mm / 1.5" = ~48mm OD
    • 25mm / 1" = ~33-34mm OD

  • Plug Types & Styles

    Common plug types found on spa equipment are AMP, Mini JJ, C38 (Aus 3-pin), Gecko in.link, etc. For more information please click here.

    • AMP plugs are the most common type used for over 20 years.
    • Many Mini J&J plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
    • C38 is the common Australian 3-pin plug found in normal household outlets.
    • Gecko (Aeware) in.link style plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
