The BWT LSC is a straightforward, well built salt chlorinator for pools that do not need full automation. It is built around the Long Life Cell concept - an extra-large cell running at lower current density, which BWT rates for up to 25 percent longer cell life than a conventional cell of the same output. Automatic self cleaning is fitted across every model in the range.

The onboard micro-computer makes it a set-and-forget unit, with a back-lit LCD, output adjustable in one percent steps, auto-pilot mode and a multi-function timer that runs both the chlorinator and the filter pump.

Where the Diamond Mineraliser adds pool and spa automation, valve control and app connectivity, the LSC concentrates on doing the sanitising job reliably and simply. Eight output sizes cover everything from a small courtyard pool to a 200,000 litre body of water.

Operating Modes

The MODE button steps through the available operating modes:

• ON - continuous operation
• TIMER - runs to the programmed timer blocks
• SUPERCHLORINATE - maximum output to recover water quality
• BOOST - short term output increase
• SPA - automatically resets output to 10 percent for spa volumes
• BACKWASH - suspends chlorination during sand filter backwash

Timer Setup

The timer screen shows a 24 hour block display. Use the up and down buttons to move the cursor above or below each block, then press ENTER to toggle that block between:

• Blank - no operation
• C - chlorinator and pump operation
• P - pump only operation

This lets you run the filter pump without chlorine production during periods where circulation is wanted but sanitiser output is not.

Salt Levels

• Sodium salt: 3,000 - 7,000 ppm
• Mineral salts: 3,500 - 4,000 ppm

Sizing Guidance

Chlorinator sizing is driven by pool volume, water temperature, bather load and how many hours a day the filter pump runs. The maximum pool sizes above assume hot climate conditions. If your pool sits at the top of a model range, or you run short filtration hours, step up to the next output size rather than running a smaller unit at 100 percent all season - a cell held flat out will wear out well before its rated life.
