Davey Spa-quip (SpaQuip) Inline Temperature Sensor - Error 8

Davey Spa-quip in line Heater Temp Sensor. Fits SP400, 54500, 500A, 500AMK2, SP600, SP601, SP800, SP1200. May be the cause of Error 8 / Error 08 / ER 08. Note that in some cases when a thermistor has failed or is giving false readings, there is underlying corrosion, and it may be best to replace the entire heater assembly.

These are held in by glued heat shrink which will need to be replaced. Originally had a dipped yellow end, but now has a red over-moulded end.

  • Handy PVC Plumbing Size Info

    Plumbing sizes can be confusing. Pressure PVC pipe use nominal sizes - the size is simple a name, not the measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.

    • 50mm / 2" = ~60-61mm OD
    • 40mm / 1.5" = ~48mm OD
    • 25mm / 1" = ~33-34mm OD

  • Plug Types & Styles

    Common plug types found on spa equipment are AMP, Mini JJ, C38 (Aus 3-pin), Gecko in.link, etc. For more information please click here.

    • AMP plugs are the most common type used for over 20 years.
    • Many Mini J&J plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
    • C38 is the common Australian 3-pin plug found in normal household outlets.
    • Gecko (Aeware) in.link style plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
