Astralpool Float Switch - Viron

F7 may be caused by a faulty float level switch on any Hurlcon Astralpool Viron gas pool heater. This is an OEM replacement float switch rated for higher temperatures than generic parts. These can be very difficult to remove when corrosion is present.

Notes:

  • Heater base must be checked for corrosion or other issues. This is best done using an borescope.
  • If condensate tank is corroded, replacing the float switch will not resolve issue. Heater will likely need replacing.

  • Ensure you order correctly. Cannot be returned for change of mind.

  • Handy PVC Plumbing Size Info

    Plumbing sizes can be confusing. Pressure PVC pipe use nominal sizes - the size is simple a name, not the measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.

    • 50mm / 2" = ~60-61mm OD
    • 40mm / 1.5" = ~48mm OD
    • 25mm / 1" = ~33-34mm OD

  • Plug Types & Styles

    Common plug types found on spa equipment are AMP, Mini JJ, C38 (Aus 3-pin), Gecko in.link, etc. For more information please click here.

    • AMP plugs are the most common type used for over 20 years.
    • Many Mini J&J plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
    • C38 is the common Australian 3-pin plug found in normal household outlets.
    • Gecko (Aeware) in.link style plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
