Top-mount 6-position multiport valve for Astralpool ECA series sand filters with 40mm ports. Suits the ECA550 and ECA650 media filters.
Check This First - ECA and EC Are Not Interchangeable
The ECA and EC valves look near-identical on the shelf. They are not the same part. The difference is the outside diameter of the filter's centre pipe (the standpipe the valve seats over):
- 48.1mm O/D centre pipe = ECA series = this valve, part 76036.
- 50mm O/D centre pipe = EC series = part 76037 instead - see Astralpool Multiport Valve 40mm, EC550 / EC650 - 76037.
Measure the centre pipe with vernier callipers or a tape before ordering. That single measurement decides it. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your existing valve and the filter's model label and we will confirm which one you need.

How to Identify Which Valve You Need
- Turn the filter pump off at the isolator and release pressure via the manual air bleed on the filter lid.
- Undo the tank clamp and lift the multiport valve clear of the tank.
- Measure the outside diameter of the centre pipe (standpipe) rising from the middle of the tank.
- 48.1mm O/D means ECA series - order 76036. 50mm O/D means EC series - order 76037.
- Check the filter's model label to confirm the reading before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit my EC550 or EC650 filter?
No. EC filters use a 50mm centre pipe and require part 76037. This valve suits the 48.1mm centre pipe on ECA series filters only.
How do I tell whether I have an ECA or an EC filter?
Measure the outside diameter of the centre pipe inside the tank. 48.1mm is ECA, 50mm is EC. Confirm against the filter's model label as well.
Water is running out the waste line while the valve is set to Filter. Do I need a whole new valve?
Usually not. That symptom is normally a worn spider gasket, part 75916, which is a fraction of the cost of a complete valve.
How many positions does the valve have?
Six: Filter, Backwash, Rinse, Waste, Recirculate and Closed.
Can I return it if I order the wrong one?
Yes, we accept returns. The valve must come back unused and in brand-new saleable condition or a restocking fee applies. Measuring the centre pipe first avoids the issue entirely.
