This is the small threaded bush that sits between your pressure gauge and the filter lid or multiport valve. It is the part that is usually still stuck in the lid, or still screwed onto the back of the old gauge, when a filter gauge is replaced. They often crack with age and overtightening.

Is this the gauge, or just the adaptor?
This listing is the adaptor only. The gauge is a separate part. If you need both, order the gauge as well and fit them together on the bench before the adaptor goes into the lid.

How do I know if my filter uses an adaptor at all?
Unscrew the gauge with the pump off and the pressure released. If a separate plastic bush is involved, you need one. If the gauge threads straight into a tapped hole in the valve body and seals on its own O-ring, you do not.

Will my existing gauge screw into it?
Only if the gauge male thread is 1/8". Measure across the thread crests with a caliper. Roughly 9.7 mm is 1/8". Roughly 13.2 mm is 1/4" BSP and will not enter a 1/8" female thread.

Do I use PTFE tape or an O-ring?
PTFE tape on the male thread. A few wraps wound in the direction of tightening is enough. Some gauges also carry their own O-ring or washer where they seat, and that seal should be replaced at the same time.
