Important: This heater suits V2 systems only.
V1 heaters are discontinued and are no longer available. A V2 heater cannot be installed into a V1 SpaNET control box. If your system is V1, the control box and heater will need to be upgraded.

This is the complete SpaNET SV heater assembly, supplied with the heater element and the components used by the controller to detect water, monitor temperature and operate the heater safely.

Faults This Heater Assembly May Resolve
Replacement of the complete heater assembly can resolve SpaNET faults caused by failed, corroded or inaccurate heater sensors, optical water detection problems, damaged wiring or internal heater assembly faults.
Common symptoms and error codes include:
- Incorrect, unstable or unrealistic water-temperature readings
- Temperature readings showing 99.7°C or 99.9°C
- ER-2: Heater sensor or heater plug fault
- ER-3: Water-prime or optical water-sensor fault
- ER-4: Heater thermal-trip fault
- ER-5: Pool-too-hot or incorrect temperature-sensor reading
- ER-6: Loss of communication between the heater assembly and control box
- Other water-detection or incorrect-temperature faults originating within the heater assembly
Important diagnostic note: ER-3 and ER-4 can also be caused by low spa water level, dirty filters, airlocks, closed valves, restricted pipework, a circulation-pump problem or otherwise inadequate water flow. These conditions should be checked before replacing the heater.
Why We Recommend Replacing the Complete Assembly
Individual replacement heater sensors are available in some cases. However, we generally recommend replacing the complete heater assembly rather than replacing the sensors alone.
Heater sensors commonly fail after corrosion, moisture ingress or deterioration within the heater assembly. Replacing only the failed sensor does not address the condition of the remaining sensors, heater tube, wiring, seals, electrical connections or heating element.
In many cases, replacing the sensors alone results in another fault developing and the complete heater assembly still needing to be replaced. Replacing the complete assembly provides a more thorough and reliable repair.
Confirm That You Have a V2 Heater
Do not select the heater from the controller model alone. SpaNET SV2, SV3 and SV4 control systems have been produced with different heater versions and power ratings.
- Locate the serial-number label on the front of the SpaNET control box.
- If the serial number ends in V2, the controller uses a V2 heater.
- If the serial number does not show a V number, it is normally a V1 controller.
- Check the heater power rating shown on the control-box or heater data label.
V1 heaters are no longer available. A V1 system must be upgraded using a compatible SpaNET control box and heater package .
Visual V1 and V2 Identification
The heater itself can also be inspected:
- V2 heater: Two Triacs are fitted to the heater assembly. These are small electronic components normally covered with white silicone.
- V1 heater: One Triac is fitted and normally covered with white silicone.
If the label and visual identification do not agree, contact us before ordering.

Before Ordering
- Confirm that the controller serial number identifies it as a V2 system.
- Confirm the required heater power rating from the data label.
- Do not attempt to install a V2 heater into a V1 control box.
- Check for water-flow problems before assuming an ER-3 or ER-4 code is caused by the heater.
- Ensure you are ordering the correct part before installation.
Unions and Installation
Heater unions are not included. Some product images may show unions for identification or reference purposes only.
Installation and electrical connection must be completed by a suitably qualified electrician, pool technician or spa technician. Power must be isolated before the control box or heater connections are accessed.
