V3 Spa Net SV Smart Link Wifi Add-on This latest version can be mounted inside, or outside the spa for best reception. It is smaller and more compact than the earlier versions.
The SV SmartLINK is a WiFi module for the SpaNET SV Series spa control that enables remote access control of a spa via the use of the Internet and the SpaNET SpaLink smart device app. (Download user guide below for setup and app detail.)
Users can use the App on their smart device (phone, tablet) to remotely connect to and control their spa pool. This is ideal for holiday homes or commercial use.
Installation & User Manual (V2 & V3)

Unleash the power of remote spa management with the SmartLink app, available on both App Store and Google Play. No matter where you are in the world, whether you’re lounging on a beach or stuck in an office, your spa is just a tap away. Imagine adjusting your spa settings while you’re at work, so it’s ready the moment you step through the door. Or being away on holiday and ensuring your spa doesn’t consume unnecessary power. It means power control, wherever you are.
Comprehensive Spa Configuration - The SmartLink app’s intuitive touch screen menus offer total command over all your spa settings. Modify the operating mode to suit your lifestyle, set the filtration time for crystal clear water, or program sleep timers for energy-efficient operation. It’s like a spa concierge in your pocket.
Automate with Home Assistant - Enter the world of the Internet of Things by linking your spa to Home Assistant via MQTT. Control your spa’s power consumption to only occur during peak solar panel production or when discounted electricity tariffs are available. Setup powerful automations to ensure your spa is on and ready when you are.

Seamless Compatibility with SV Controllers - The SpaLink system is designed for universal compatibility with all SV controller models (SV2/SV3/SV4/SV Mini 1 & 2). It’s easy and quick installation process makes it a perfect retrofit option, bringing modern convenience to your existing spa setup...without the hassle
Works With:
- SpaNet Mini 1 all versions
- SpaNet Mini 3 all versions
- Spanet SV2 V3 28 07 14 or later software (see below how to check)
- Spanet SV3 V3 28 07 14 or later software (see below how to check)
- Spanet SV4 V3 28 07 14 or later software (see below how to check)
Compatibility:
For the SpaNET SpaLink app and WiFi module to work correctly, the SV controller must be loaded with the correct firmware (software) version. All SV software versions are designated by a date code, and the SV software version can be easily checked via the SV diagnostic menu on the SV-T keypad. Prior to installing the SV SmartLINK or SmartSTREAM WiFi module the installer/user must check the SV controller software version to ensure it is up to date. If the firmware is an older version it will need to be updated prior to the WiFi module being installed.
How To Check Your Software Version:
The software version will be scrolled across the display in the following format:
- Vx DD MM YY = Version Day Month Year
- For example: V2 29 01 14 = Version 2 29th January 2014
For the WiFi module and SpaLink smart device app to function correctly the software version must be V3 28 07 14 or later.
If the software scroll is any date earlier than V3 28 07 14 the software must be updated by a service technician prior to the WiFi module being installed.

In plumbing, named sizes are not the actual measurements. A pipe called “50mm” or “2"” does not measure 50 mm across. Instead, it follows nominal sizing, an internationally-standardised naming system.
Use the Outside Diameter (OD) to check your pipe against fittings. Below is a quick reference for common spa & pool pipe sizes:
Imperial Name | Metric Name | Pipe Diameter (OD) |
---|---|---|
1" | 25 mm | ~33.4–33.7 mm |
1.5" | 40 mm | ~48.1–48.4 mm |
2" | 50 mm | ~60.2–60.5 mm |
2.5" | 65 mm | ~75.2–75.5 mm |
These are nominal sizes and are designed to fit matching fittings — not to measure exactly what their name suggests.
Understanding Plumbing Sizes & Nominal Measurements
Plumbing sizes can be confusing. PVC and many other pipe systems use nominal sizes—the size is a name, not the exact measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.
Why pipe sizes don’t match the measurements
The Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) system standardises pipe dimensions so that pipes, fittings, valves, and accessories interoperate. Plumbers work with these nominal names every day, but DIYers can be tripped up if they try to match by a tape-measure alone.
How to Measure Pipe Correctly
-
Pipe size is identified by:
- The pipe’s Outside Diameter (OD).
- The fitting’s Inside Diameter (ID) (socket opening).
- Pipe Class / Schedule (e.g., Class 9, 12, 18 or Sch 40) relates to wall thickness and therefore the Internal Diameter (ID) and pressure rating.
- The outside diameter of a fitting is not useful (wall thickness varies by manufacturer).

Common nominal sizes with typical outside diameters and indicative inside diameters by class.
Imperial Name | Metric Name | Outside Diameter (OD) | Class 9 IDº | Class 12 IDº | Class 18 IDº |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1/2" | 15 mm | ~21.2–21.5 mm | 18.3 mm | 17.8 mm | |
3/4" | 20 mm | ~26.6–26.9 mm | 23.7 mm | 22.4 mm | |
1" | 25 mm | ~33.4–33.7 mm | 30.5 mm | 29.8 mm | 28.1 mm |
32 mm | ~42.1–42.4 mm | 38.5 mm | 37.5 mm | 35.4 mm | |
1.5" | 40 mm | ~48.1–48.4 mm | 45.2 mm | 44.1 mm | 42.8 mm |
2" | 50 mm | ~60.2–60.5 mm | 55.2 mm | 53.7 mm | 50.5 mm |
65 mm | ~75.2–75.5 mm | 68.9 mm | 67.0 mm | 63.2 mm | |
2.5" | ~73 mm |
- º Internal diameters vary slightly by manufacturer and class.
- 1 Not all pool/spa fittings match these dimensions exactly. Some do not follow Australian or international standards. Chinese spas may use proprietary fittings.
Hose & Tube Dimensions
Common flexible hose sizes used in pool/spa systems (approximate IDs).

3/8" | 9–10 mm | ~9 mm |
3/4" | 19 mm | ~19 mm |
BSP – British Standard Pipe Thread Sizes
BSP thread names are also nominal. The thread OD will not equal the nominal name.
