- There is no legal replacement gas valve for these in Australia. In most cases, a new heater is required.
- Overseas versions of the SmartValve are not compatible and are not legal for Australian appliances.
- Heater will likely need to be replaced as most heaters with this valve were discontinued between 2014-2016.

Important (LPG and gas pressure)
- For LPG: use the existing spring from the old valve, or purchase a new LPG kit for these valves (located under the gas pressure adjustment).
- When replacing gas valves, gas pressure must be adjusted to the heater’s compliance label.
Notes (what the SmartValve does)
The SmartValve® controls gas and flame, and also performs hot surface ignition (HSI) and flame rectification via the flame sensor on the pilot assembly. It is not a simple open/close solenoid valve.
SmartValve® System Controls combine gas flow control and electronic intermittent pilot sequencing functions into a single unit. They can also monitor airflow proving switches and limit circuits, and provide pre-purge, post-purge, and timed trial-for-ignition functions, with shutoff and retry logic.
