Replacement fastener kit for the tank clamp band on Astralpool ECA series sand filters. Supplies the clamp band bolt and nut plus the allen key needed to tighten it. Listed by Fluidra as a component bag, part 78399.

This is the hardware that draws the clamp band tight around the tank lid joint. The bolt is the part that corrodes, seizes or strips first, and the allen key is the part most often lost.

This Kit Is the Fasteners Only - Not the Clamp Band

78399 supplies the bolt, nut and allen key. It does not include the clamp band itself, the tank lid, or the lid O-ring. Work out which part has actually failed before ordering:

• Bolt corroded, seized or stripped, or the allen key is missing - this kit, part 78399.
• Clamp band itself is cracked, distorted or has let go - you need the complete band: Clamp Band ECA Complete 77730.
• Clamp is intact and correctly tightened but water still weeps from the lid joint - that is normally the lid seal: O-Ring ECA Lid Green 7201750057.
• Sand or media returning to the pool - the fault is inside the tank, not at the clamp. See the laterals and hub listed below.

Safety

• Always shut down the pump and fully release system pressure at the filter's manual air bleed before loosening or removing the clamp band.
• Never run the filter with a cracked band, a damaged bolt, or missing clamp hardware. The lid joint is a pressure joint.
• Replace corroded fasteners rather than over-tightening them. Over-tightening distorts the band and does not fix a leaking lid seal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does 78399 include the clamp band?
No. This kit is the bolt, nut and allen key only. If the band itself is cracked or distorted you need part 77730, the complete ECA clamp band.

My filter lid is leaking. Will this kit fix it?
Only if the leak is caused by a bolt that will no longer tighten. If the clamp is sound and correctly tightened and the joint still weeps, the lid O-ring 7201750057 is the more likely fix.

Will this fit an Astralpool CA or EC series filter?
No. This kit is for the ECA series clamp band. CA models use a different lock nut arrangement. Check your filter's model label, and contact us with a photo if you are unsure.

Why does the kit include an allen key?
The ECA clamp band bolt takes a hex drive. The key is supplied so the clamp can be tightened correctly without hunting for the right size.

Can I just use a hardware store bolt instead?
We do not recommend it. The clamp band secures a pressure joint, and the genuine fastener is specified for that duty and for the corrosive poolside environment.
