Why are our prices cheaper than a technician / gas fitter / electrician?
We sell parts direct, so you only pay for the product. A tradesperson’s price includes not just the part, but also their time, travel, expertise, insurances, and business costs. Additionally, many technicians buy from companies like ours because the larger manufacturers and distributors can be difficult to deal with.
Don’t expect a technician or tradesperson to be cheap. Cheap tradespeople often run unsustainable businesses, and may not be around long term.
Will my technician fit parts I buy elsewhere?
Some tradespeople put it this way: “Would you take your own meat to McDonald’s and ask them to cook it?” The same principle applies to spa and pool parts. Your technician may not provide warranty or support on items they did not source themselves, and using the wrong part could lead to bigger and more expensive problems.
Technicians, gas fitters, and electricians carry far greater responsibilities than simply swapping a part. When you hire them, you are paying for their time, experience, licensing, insurance, and the guarantee that the job is done safely and correctly. Importantly, they also cover their work. So it is best to ask beforehand, as many will not fit parts supplied by customers.
