Filters should be replaced 1-2 years.
Reemay® Beats the Competition - For more than 30 years, Reemay® has been the leader in pool and spa media for two reasons.
- First, Reemay is stronger than the competition. If a media is torn, it will not filter as it’s designed to, and that can result in water that’s not as clean as you want. More durable Reemay means cleaner water, fewer replacements for a lower cost and more time for enjoyment.
- Second, a filter is supposed to remove contaminants from the water, but some media have fibers that break and get into the system. Reemay is made of continuous fibers to reduce the likelihood of breakage and loss.
Caring for Your Cartridge Filter with Reemay
- Reemay is easy to care for because of its strength and low breakage and loss characteristics. Cleaning it is as easy as running a garden hose…which is exactly how you clean it!
- You’ll know your filter needs cleaning when there is an increase of 10 pound per square inch (psi) or more above the normal operating pressure listed in the owner’s manual. The pressure can be found on the cartridge’s housing canister.
To Clean the Cartridge:
- Remove the cartridge from the housing, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Soak filter in a degreaser solution to remove oils, lotions, etc.
- Rinse the cartridge with a garden hose from both the inside and the outside to remove coarse dirt and debris. Be sure to wash between all pleats. Fine particles of dirt are more easily removed by brushing the cartridge when it's dry. It’s not necessary to remove every speck of dirt.
- Replace the cartridge in the housing, again following the manufacturer’s instructions.
These aren’t your typical low-cost filters found on sites like eBay, Wish, Temu, or Amazon.
Top brands like Davey, Waterco, Astralpool, Zodiac, Sapphire, and more use these exact filters but with significant markups.
By purchasing in bulk, we’re able to offer the same high-quality filters at a fraction of the cost—passing the savings directly to you!
About Our Filters:
We primarily use filters made by Darlly and Magnum unless specified otherwise. These filters incorporate high-quality Reemay/Darlly filter material, which is stronger and more durable compared to competitors. The superior durability of Reemay/Darlly filters leads to cleaner water, fewer replacements, and lower long-term costs, allowing you more time to enjoy your pool or spa.
Cheaper filters often have fibers that can break apart and enter the system, potentially causing issues. Reemay/Darlly filters use continuous fibers, significantly reducing the risk of breakage and loss, ensuring your system stays clean and efficient.
Caring for Your Reemay/Darlly Cartridge Filter:
Reemay/Darlly filters are known for their strength and durability, making them easy to maintain. Cleaning is simple!
When to Clean:
Filters should be cleaned anywhere from every 2 weeks to 6 months, which totally depends on how much work your filter is doing.
- Spas: You'll know it's time to clean your filter either when water flow and pressure seems reduced at your spa or pool jets.
- Pools: Many cartridge filter manufacturers recommend you clean filters when the pressure gauge is around 35kPa above it's normal operating pressure. Replace faulty pressure gauges regularly.
How to Clean Your Filter Cartridge:
- Remove the cartridge from the housing, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Soak the filter in a degreasing solution to remove oils, lotions, and other debris. Examples: Zodiac Filter Cleaner Soak or Filter Klenz Spray
- Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose from both the inside and outside, ensuring you clean between all the pleats. These nozzles are handy!
- Reinstall the cartridge in the housing, again following the manufacturer's guidelines.
Things you can do to maximise the life of your filter:
- Maintain the pool water chemistry in proper balance.
- Clean the cartridge in accordance with its cleaning instructions.
- Do not scrub the filter with a stiff brush.
- Do not use a high pressure hose.
- Do not use flocculants.
- Rotate two cartridges to prolong the life of the filters considerably.
Replacement:
Filters should be replaced every 1-2 years to maintain optimal performance.
It's a great idea to keep a spare or two for easy changeovers!
