• 50mm pressure PVC: approx. 60-61mm OD

Important: In pool plumbing, the nominal pipe size is not the actual outside measurement. If unsure, measure the outside diameter (OD) of your pipe before ordering.

2026 Update: New 40mm / 50mm Combo Tail

Fluidra updated many of these unions from separate 40mm and 50mm tails to a newer single dual-size combo tail. The nut, thread and O-ring pattern remain the same, but the new tail is typically ABS and is generally longer than the earlier single 50mm tail.

• Old style: separate 40mm reducer tail or separate 50mm tail
• New style: one combo tail that accepts either 40mm or 50mm pressure PVC
• Tail material: ABS on the newer combo version
• Please check clearance: the newer combo tail can alter the installed length on tight equipment pads

Solvent Cement / Installation Notes

Because the newer combo tail is ABS, best practice is to use a proper ABS-to-PVC transition solvent cement when joining to PVC pressure pipe. Always allow suitable cure time before pressure testing or normal operation.
