About Our Filters:
We primarily use filters made by Darlly and Magnum unless specified otherwise. These filters incorporate high-quality Reemay/Darlly/Magnut filter material, which is stronger and more durable compared to competitors.
The superior durability of Reemay/Darlly/Magnum filters leads to cleaner water, fewer replacements, and lower long-term costs, allowing you more time to enjoy your pool or spa.
Cheaper filters often have fibers that can break apart and enter the system, potentially causing issues. Reemay/DarllyMagnum filters use continuous fibers, significantly reducing the risk of breakage and loss, ensuring your system stays clean and efficient.
Caring for Your Reemay/Darlly/Magnum Cartridge Filter:
Reemay/Darlly/Magnum filters are known for their strength and durability, making them easy to maintain. Cleaning is simple!
Filters should be cleaned anywhere from every 2 weeks to 6 months, which totally depends on how much work your filter is doing.
- Spas: You'll know it's time to clean your filter either when water flow and pressure seems reduced at your spa or pool jets.
- Pools: Many cartridge filter manufacturers recommend you clean filters when the pressure gauge is around 35kPa above it's normal operating pressure. Replace faulty pressure gauges regularly.
How to Clean Your Filter Cartridge:
- Remove the cartridge from the housing, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Soak the filter in a degreasing solution to remove oils, lotions, and other debris. Examples: Zodiac Filter Cleaner Soak or Filter Klenz Spray
- Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose from both the inside and outside, ensuring you clean between all the pleats. These nozzles are handy!
- Reinstall the cartridge in the housing, again following the manufacturer's guidelines.
Things you can do to maximise the life of your filter:
- Maintain the pool water chemistry in proper balance.
- Clean the cartridge in accordance with its cleaning instructions.
- Do not scrub the filter with a stiff brush.
- Do not use a high pressure hose.
- Do not use flocculants or overuse clarifiers.
- Rotate multiple cartridges to prolong the life of the filters considerably.
Replacement Time:
Filters should be replaced every 1-2 years to maintain optimal performance.
It's a great idea to keep a spare or two for easy changeovers!
Warranty:
12-month Replacement Warranty on most filters other than the disposable & inflatable types. Warranty does not cover damage due to improper use or water balance issues. See here for examples.
