Spanet XS-3000 SV Style Touchpad and Overlay - replaces older style touchpads like this.
If retrofitting the older style of Spanet XS touchpads, you will need a 76mm hole saw and an angle grinder or hacksaw type tool.
Keypad Installation Instructions
Select a suitable keypad mounting location that:
- Is above the spa’s maximum water level.
- Is easily accessible to the spa user.
- Provides adequate drainage so water cannot accumulate on or around the keypad.
- Allows sufficient clearance beneath the spa cover so the cover does not rest directly on the keypad.
Before Cutting the Spa Shell
Before drilling or cutting the keypad opening, hold the keypad in the proposed location and confirm that the cable is long enough to reach the spa control pack.
The cable must not be stretched, placed under tension or pulled across sharp edges.
Cut-Out Dimensions
- Drill two 76 mm diameter holes.
- Space the holes 71 mm apart, measured centre to centre.
- Cut out the remaining material between the two holes to form the complete keypad opening.
Refer to the supplied installation diagram for the correct hole layout and cut-out shape.
Preparing the Mounting Surface
Clean the mounting surface thoroughly to remove:
- Dirt and dust
- Oil
- Grease
- Moisture
For the keypad adhesive to bond correctly, the spa shell must have a clean, smooth and completely dry surface.
Installing the Keypad
- Peel the paper backing from the adhesive gasket, ensuring the entire adhesive surface is exposed.
- Feed the keypad cable through the prepared opening.
- Carefully align the keypad with the cut-out.
- Press the keypad firmly onto the mounting surface.
- Press evenly around the entire outside edge to ensure the keypad is fully adhered to the spa shell.
Important Installation Notes
- The keypad mounting area must have adequate drainage to prevent water accumulating on or around the keypad.
- Where the keypad is mounted beneath a spa cover, allow sufficient clearance so the cover does not rest directly on the keypad.
- Parts incorporating electrical components, including keypads, must be securely installed so they cannot fall into the spa or bath.
Applicable Models: SV3.T and SV4.T
In plumbing, named sizes are not the actual measurements. A pipe called “50mm” or “2"” does not measure 50 mm across. Instead, it follows nominal sizing, an internationally-standardised naming system.
Use the Outside Diameter (OD) to check your pipe against fittings. Below is a quick reference for common spa & pool pipe sizes:

These are nominal sizes and are designed to fit matching fittings — not to measure exactly what their name suggests. These are based on PVC Pressure Pipe AS/NZ 1477 Dimensions1.

Understanding Plumbing Sizes & Nominal Measurements
Plumbing sizes can be confusing. PVC and many other pipe systems use nominal sizes—the size is a name, not the exact measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.
Why pipe sizes don’t match the measurements
The Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) system standardises pipe dimensions so that pipes, fittings, valves, and accessories interoperate. Plumbers work with these nominal names every day, but DIYers can be tripped up if they try to match by a tape-measure alone.
How to Measure Pipe Correctly

Pipe size is identified by:
- The pipe’s Outside Diameter (OD).
- The fitting’s Inside Diameter (ID) (socket opening).
- Pipe Class / Schedule (e.g., Class 9, 12, 18 or Sch 40) relates to wall thickness and therefore the Internal Diameter (ID) and pressure rating.
- The outside diameter of a fitting is not useful (wall thickness varies by manufacturer).
