We generally don't recommend Portapac pumps as there are now better systems that can easily be repaired. Waterco Portapacs are old technology and generally cannot be repaired when a part fails. For similar prices, you can upgrade to far better systems that offer features like sleep timers, modular (easily replaceable) components, and improved overall performance. These end up being lower-cost in the long run.

Waterco Portapac Mk IV all-in-one pump & control systems have had several iterations, modifications, changes, upgrades, etc over the years. This is the MK4 version, which comes with a 1HP or 1.5HP pump and heater. Also has the ability to run a second 240V blower or light. Suitable for 4-10 jets.

Waterco Portapacs have built-in electric heaters and electronic controls. The Portapac circulates water through the spa jets as well as heating the water. Manually adjust temperature, and controlled by air button.

Pipe & Fittings Sizing Info

Plumbing sizes can be confusing. Pressure PVC pipe use nominal sizes - the size is simple a name, not the measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.

50mm / 2" = ~60-61mm OD
40mm / 1.5" = ~48mm OD
25mm / 1" = ~33-34mm OD

Plug Types & Styles

Common plug types found on spa equipment are AMP, Mini JJ, C38 (Aus 3-pin), Gecko in.link, etc. For more information please click here.

AMP plugs are the most common type used for over 20 years.
Many Mini J&J plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
C38 is the common Australian 3-pin plug found in normal household outlets.
Gecko (Aeware) in.link style plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
