How to find your Balboa heater part number on the heater tube

How to identify your Balboa heater

Every Balboa heater has a 5-digit part number (e.g. 58118, 58201, 58350) printed on the heater tube — it’s often sitting in front of a longer number. Enter that 5-digit number in the search below to find your exact replacement.

Can’t find the number, or not sure? Send us a photo of your old heater and we’ll identify the right part.

No part number? Here’s what to check to match your heater

Match as many of these as you can — it narrows the heater down quickly:

  • Control box model — the spa pack label often reads Balboa M7, BP, GS, GL or VS.
  • Heater rating — the kW and voltage, commonly 2.0kW or 3.0kW at 230–240V.
  • Sensor type — M7 heaters use M7 sensors; older packs may use a pressure switch instead.
  • Plumbing — tube length, union style and barrel size (nominal sizes don’t always match the measured diameter).
  • Electrical connection — AMP plug, spade terminals or hard-wired leads.
  • Tube shape — overall length, element position, sensor ports and where the cable exits.

Still unsure? Send us photos of the control box label, heater tube, wiring plugs, sensors and both plumbing unions and we’ll match it.

We keep these physically in stock for fast shipping or local pick-up, unlike most drop-shipping websites.

Titanium vs Incoloy: Titanium elements aren’t necessarily better than standard Incoloy. For most applications we recommend Incoloy due to the significant price difference — contact us if you’re unsure which suits your spa.

Balboa heater questions

How do I find my Balboa heater part number?

Every Balboa heater has a 5-digit part number printed on the heater tube, usually in front of a longer number. Enter that 5-digit number above to find the exact replacement.

My part number is old or superseded — what do I do?

Many older Balboa numbers have been replaced by a newer equivalent. Enter your old number and the finder shows the current replacement. If you are unsure, send a photo and we will identify it.

Is the heater tube the same as the heater element?

No. The tube is the stainless assembly that houses the element, sensors and plumbing connections; the element is the internal heating part. Some repairs need only the element, others the full tube assembly.

Can I replace just the heater element?

Sometimes — it depends on the condition of the tube, terminals, sensors and seals. If those are damaged, a complete heater assembly is the better repair.

Do you stock Balboa heaters in Australia?

Yes. We keep Balboa heaters physically in stock in Australia for fast shipping, with local pick-up available in Carrum Downs, Victoria.

What photos help identify my heater?

Clear photos of the control box label, the heater tube, wiring plugs, sensor ports and both plumbing unions, plus any kW, voltage or part numbers printed on the old part.
