See Important Notes Below! The Honeywell Smart Valve (part number 56609198) was fitted to Raypak Type A Water & Pool heaters (models 147, 167, 200, 280, 350, 430) manufactured from approx 2008 to mid-2018. (With Black Label, not Gray). Honeywell ceased production of the Smart Valve and all spare parts stock is now exhausted meaning a like for like gas valve replacement is no longer possible on these models.

Any existing heaters in the field that are found to need a Smart Valve replacement will now require an upgrade to the ignition system to keep them in service. A Smart Valve DSI Upgrade Kit has been produced to facilitate this modification.

The DSI upgrade kit includes all the components required to carry out the modification
including a gas valve, ignition module, direct spark igniter and install instructions.

Important Notes:

• Must be fitted by a Licensed & Qualified person, such as a Gas Fitter with Type A Servicing endorsement (not a general gasfitter).  As a general rule, this kit can take anywhere from 2-5 hours to fit, depending on the installation, and will require an inspection of the heater beforehand. 
• This kit is a special order item and cannot be returned for change of mind.
• This kit will not suit earlier Raypak Heaters, Edwards Heatmate 250, Hurlcon, or Astralpool MX gas heaters.
