Casual Picker, Packer & Sales Assistant – Carrum Downs VIC

Days: Monday to Wednesday (Mondays essential)
Hours: Starting 15 hrs a week with scope for more hours and responsibilities
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, detail focused Picker Packer and Sales Assistant to join a small busy shop team. This is a hands on role combining order fulfilment, stock care, and customer service. There is scope for more hours and broader responsibilities over time for the right person.
This is not a role where you will be waiting for instructions. We want someone who notices what needs doing and gets on with it, keeping the shop looking great and customers feeling welcome. You will be active with some lifting, a lot of being on your feet, and keeping everything clean and organised. Some technical aptitude or interest would be beneficial for learning about our products and assisting customers effectively.
Main Duties
- Pick, check, pack, and label customer orders for courier or postal dispatch.
- Keep the shop clean, tidy, and well presented at all times.
- Ensure floors are clean and product displays are neat, stocked, and dust free.
- Monitor stock levels and alert the team when items need reordering.
- Move and lift stock as needed, including boxes and bulky items.
- Be on your feet for most of the shift while completing various tasks.
- Collect stock from local suppliers when required.
- Serve customers in person and over the phone with a cheerful, upbeat attitude.
- Answer calls, take accurate messages, and pass them on promptly.
- Take initiative to find and complete tasks without needing to be asked.
About You
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self motivated, organised, and dependable.
- Takes pride in keeping the shop clean and inviting.
- Friendly, positive, and confident communicator with good customer service skills.
- Comfortable working on your feet and lifting or moving stock throughout the shift.
- Current drivers licence and clean driving record (essential).
- Comfortable with basic computer tasks such as order checking and label printing.
- Some technical aptitude or interest is beneficial for learning products and assisting customers.
- Experience with spas and or pools is ideal, even just having owned or used a spa helps.
- Retail, customer service, or product handling experience is an advantage but not essential if you learn quickly.
Hours and Pay
- Monday to Wednesday each week (Mondays essential).
- Starting 15 hrs a week with the opportunity for additional hours and responsibilities over time.
- Award wages to begin with in line with the General Retail Award.
- Trial period will apply at the start of employment.
