Also known as Sodium Bicarbonate, Buffer, Bicarb

Acts as a pH buffer to prevent extreme pH shifts

Ideal TA level is usually 80-150ppm. Low Total Alkalinity can cause damage to plastics, heaters, seals, and pumps. 

200g will raise Total Alkalinity by 10ppm per 10,000 liters
