Description

Onga / Balboa Whispair 120 and Whispair 120 Plus spa blowers are now obsolete and no longer available.

These blowers were used in both portable spas and spa baths. There were several versions, including models with air switches, heated air, sanitation cycles and different control setups. The original Whispair 120 range has not been manufactured for several years, and replacement parts are no longer available.

Important Notes Before Ordering

  • Replacement blowers are not always a direct plug-and-play swap. Minor plumbing changes may be required.
  • Most replacement blowers use 40mm pressure PVC plumbing. Existing pipework may need to be adapted to suit.
  • The electrical plug or wiring may need to be changed by a licensed electrician, depending on the original installation.
  • Please check whether your existing blower is controlled by an air button / air switch, or by a spa controller, before choosing a replacement.

Spa Bath Sanitation Cycle Note: The original Whispair spa bath blowers were sometimes supplied with a sanitation / purge cycle. Electrically-Approved replacement spa bath blowers currently available in Australia do not include this same sanitation cycle function. We recommend briefly running the blower after draining the bath to help clear moisture from the air lines.

  • Handy PVC Plumbing Size Info

    Plumbing sizes can be confusing. Pressure PVC pipe use nominal sizes - the size is simple a name, not the measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.

    • 50mm / 2" = ~60-61mm OD
    • 40mm / 1.5" = ~48mm OD
    • 25mm / 1" = ~33-34mm OD

  • Plug Types & Styles

    Common plug types found on spa equipment are AMP, Mini JJ, C38 (Aus 3-pin), Gecko in.link, etc. For more information please click here.

    • AMP plugs are the most common type used for over 20 years.
    • Many Mini J&J plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
    • C38 is the common Australian 3-pin plug found in normal household outlets.
    • Gecko (Aeware) in.link style plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
