The Zodiac DuoX DX3000 is the entry model in the DuoX corded range, and it gives away far less than its position in the range suggests. It plugs into a standard power point and runs independently of your pool pump, filter and skimmer, so it can clean while the pump is off and leaves end up in the cleaner rather than in your cartridge or sand filter.

It shares the DX4000's body, its three motors, its 15 metre swivel cable, its 4L dual-stage 150µ / 60µ filtration, its patented cyclonic suction, its Lift System and its 2-year warranty. What you give up is the rear Helix brush, the LED in the filter canister and the transport caddy. If you are happy checking the canister yourself and storing the cleaner without a trolley, it cleans the same pool the same way.

What size pool does the Zodiac DuoX DX3000 suit?

Zodiac rates it for in-ground pools up to 10 x 5 metres, which comes from its 15 metre cable. Measure from your power point to the furthest corner of the pool rather than just the pool length, because the cable has to cover the run to the water as well. If your pool is longer than 10 metres, step up to the DX4050 iQ or the EvoluX EX6050 iQ.

What is the difference between the DX3000 and the DX4000?

Three things, and none of them appear in Zodiac's published spec table. The DX4000 adds a second Helix brush at the rear, an LED in the filter canister that tells you when it is full, and a transport caddy. Pool size, cable length, motors, filtration, suction, Lift System and warranty are identical between the two.

Is the DX3000 worth it over the DX4000?

If your budget is the deciding factor, yes – it cleans the same 10 x 5m pool with the same three motors and the same dual-stage filtration. Step up to the DX4000 if you want the rear brush for better pickup on textured surfaces, the LED so you are not guessing when to empty the canister, or the caddy for storage. Step up to the DX4050 iQ if you want app control or a pool longer than 10 metres.

Does it connect to my pool pump or filter?

No. It plugs into a standard power point and collects debris in its own canister, so it never touches your pump, filter, skimmer or suction line. That means it can run while the pump is off, and leaves end up in the cleaner rather than in your cartridge or sand filter.

Does it clean the waterline?

Yes. Like every DuoX it cleans floors, walls and waterline, and it has the same wall detection that lets it climb without needing to tilt first.
