The Zodiac EvoluX EX6050 iQ is the top corded robotic pool cleaner in Zodiac's Australian range. It plugs into a standard power point and runs completely independently of your pool pump, filter and skimmer, so it cleans on its own schedule rather than yours. A 21 metre cable and a 5 litre canister give it the largest pool rating and the largest debris capacity of any Zodiac corded robot – up to 15 x 7 metres.

What separates it from the DuoX models below it is intelligence rather than raw suction. Sensor Nav System reads the shape and dimensions of your pool and builds a cleaning path around it instead of bouncing about at random, and a built-in pressure sensor lets it climb and hold the waterline at whatever depth your pool actually is.

What size pool does the Zodiac EvoluX EX6050 iQ suit?

Zodiac rates it for in-ground pools up to 15 x 7 metres. That rating comes from the 21 metre cable, which is the longest in the Zodiac corded range. Measure from your power point to the furthest corner of the pool, not just the pool length, because the cable has to cover both.

What is the difference between the EX6050 iQ and the DuoX DX4050 iQ?

Pool size and intelligence. The EX6050 iQ covers 15 x 7m on a 21m cable against the DX4050 iQ's 12 x 6m on 18m, carries a 5L canister against 4L, adds Sensor Nav System pool mapping, 4-wheel drive traction, a water temperature display and a 3-year motor block warranty against the DuoX's 2 years. Both share the same dual-stage 150µ / 60µ filtration, the same three motors and the same iAquaLink app connection.

Does it connect to my pool pump or filter?

No. It plugs into a standard power point, runs on its own low-voltage supply and collects debris in its own canister. It never touches your pump, filter, skimmer or suction line, so it can run while the pump is off and it does not load up your cartridge or sand filter with leaves.

Can I use a finer or coarser filter?

Yes. The EX6050 iQ ships with the dual-stage 150µ / 60µ canister, and the 150µ can be run on its own. It is also compatible with single 60µ, 100µ, 150µ and 200µ canisters, so you can run coarse through heavy leaf drop and fine when you are chasing dust and dead algae.

What does the Lift System actually do?

At the end of a cycle the cleaner drives itself onto a wall, climbs to the waterline and waits there. When you lift it out, a water jet expels the water it is carrying, so you are lifting roughly 20% less weight than you otherwise would. On a 10kg cleaner full of water that difference is noticeable.
