The Zodiac Freerider FR1000 iQ is the serious end of the range. Built for in-ground pools up to 12 x 6 metres, it runs three motors instead of two, carries a 9.6 Ah battery good for a two-and-a-half hour cycle, and holds 4 litres of debris behind dual-stage 150/60 micron filtration. It is also one of only two Freerider models that carry Zodiac's longer 3-year motor block warranty.

What size pool does the Zodiac Freerider FR1000 iQ suit?

Zodiac rates the FR1000 iQ for in-ground pools up to 12 x 6 metres, in any shape and on any standard surface.

What is the difference between the FR1000 iQ and the FR2000 iQ?

Mechanically they are the same robot – same 12 x 6 metre rating, same three motors, same 9.6 Ah battery, same 4 L dual-stage filtration, same four cleaning modes. The FR2000 iQ adds three things: a handheld remote that works underwater and triggers the Lift System, a wheeled transport trolley with the charging base built in, and the extra retrieval options that come with the remote.

What are the four cleaning modes?

Floor only and full clean (floor, walls and waterline) are available on the robot itself. Connecting to the iAquaLink app unlocks two more: Smart cycle, which uses the sensors to optimise the path, and waterline only.

Can I leave the FR1000 iQ in the pool between cycles?

No. Take it out at the end of each cycle, and always remove it before dosing chemicals. Leaving it submerged shortens the life of the tracks, seals and battery, and is not covered by warranty.

Does the Freerider connect to my pool pump or filter?

No. Every Freerider is fully cordless and self-contained. It runs on its own lithium-ion battery and collects debris in its own canister, so it does not touch your pump, filter, skimmer or suction line. That also means it uses far less energy than a hydraulic cleaner.
