Underneath it is the same three-motor, 12 x 6 metre platform as the FR1000 iQ, with the same 9.6 Ah battery, 4 litre dual-stage filtration and four cleaning modes. What size pool does the Zodiac Freerider FR2000 iQ suit?

Zodiac rates the FR2000 iQ for in-ground pools up to 12 x 6 metres, in any shape and on any standard surface.

Is the FR2000 iQ worth the step up from the FR1000 iQ?

It depends on handling, not cleaning. The cleaning hardware is identical – same motors, battery, filtration, pool rating and cleaning modes. The FR2000 iQ adds the underwater handheld remote with Lift System and the wheeled trolley. If you have a large or deep pool, or you move the robot in and out often, those two things earn their keep. If the robot lives beside the pool and you are happy using the app, the FR1000 iQ cleans the same.

Does the remote work underwater?

Yes – that is the point of it. The FR2000 iQ remote communicates with the robot while it is submerged, which the iAquaLink app cannot do. Place the end of the remote in the water to drive the cleaner or trigger the Lift System. Do not leave the remote fully submerged for long periods.

What retrieval options does the FR2000 iQ have?

Four: Tap & Lift with your pool pole, the Lift System from the handheld remote, an app-triggered waterline return, or the manual hook. The robot expels water as it comes out so it lifts light.

Does the Freerider connect to my pool pump or filter?

No. Every Freerider is fully cordless and self-contained. It runs on its own lithium-ion battery and collects debris in its own canister, so it does not touch your pump, filter, skimmer or suction line. That also means it uses far less energy than a hydraulic cleaner.
