Description

Obsolete spa blower replacement: These older Onga, Dega and Quiptron spa air blowers are no longer available. We have modern replacement options below.

These blowers were commonly fitted to older outdoor spas, spa baths, and some skid-pack style spa systems sold in Australia under the Onga, Dega, and Quiptron names.

Replacement Options

  • AstralPool Blowers - good budget replacement option, available with or without air switch. Simple, common, and cost-effective.
  • Waterco Blowers - available with or without air switch, quieter than many older blowers, insulated housing, and uses Ametek Lamb motors.
  • Spa-King Peacemaker - premium option, very quiet, high-end build quality. Normally supplied without air switch, but an external air switch setup can be added if required.
  • SpaTex Blower - Industrial-Grade - a genuine commercial blower. The top of the top - for not much more money!

How to Choose the Correct Replacement

  • If your old blower used an air button on the spa shell: choose a blower with air switch.
  • If your old blower was switched by a control box, timer, or external power supply: choose a blower without air switch.
  • Plumbing: most of these older blowers connected to standard 50mm PVC pipe (~61mm OD). Some installations may use reducers or adaptors.
  • Mounting and pipework: check overall dimensions, pipe position, and whether your existing blower has an integrated check valve or air loop arrangement.

Important: Some older Onga literature and reseller listings show conflicting switch / no-switch part number references. It is safer to match by how the blower is switched and by the plumbing connection, rather than relying on the old number alone.

Common Features of the Original Onga / Dega / Quiptron Style Blowers

  • Typically around 1200W
  • Usually suits standard 50mm PVC pipe
  • Built-in or integrated non-return / check valve arrangement on many units
  • EMC suppression / filter
  • Thermal overload protection
  • Used to inject air into spa manifolds or air channels for a stronger bubbling massage effect

Brands These Were Sold Under

  • Onga
  • Dega
  • Quiptron
  • In some cases, later Onga units were also sold under Pentair Onga
