OBSOLETE – Waterway Executive Pumps
Waterway Executive pumps were produced in different sizes and speeds, but their horsepower ratings do not match the standard ratings commonly used in Australia. Do not rely on the sticker horsepower (HP) shown on the pump. For example, a pump marked “3.5HP” might actually be a “BHP” rating, which is closer to a true 2HP pump.

To select a correct replacement:

  • Check the motor label for the actual wattage (W) of the motor. Use the wattage (not the sticker HP) with the guide below to choose the right replacement pump.
  • Two-speed pumps will usually list two different AMP or WATT values (one for each speed).
  • Single-speed pumps will only show one AMP or WATT value.
  • The wet end can be rotated to suit various plumbing positions.

Two-Speed Pumps (will have 4 wires or metal pins on the plug)

One-Speed Pumps (will have 3 wires or metal pins on the plug. double check this!)

  • Handy PVC Plumbing Size Info

    Plumbing sizes can be confusing. Pressure PVC pipe use nominal sizes - the size is simple a name, not the measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.

    • 50mm / 2" = ~60-61mm OD
    • 40mm / 1.5" = ~48mm OD
    • 25mm / 1" = ~33-34mm OD

  • Plug Types & Styles

    Common plug types found on spa equipment are AMP, Mini JJ, C38 (Aus 3-pin), Gecko in.link, etc. For more information please click here.

    • AMP plugs are the most common type used for over 20 years.
    • Many Mini J&J plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
    • C38 is the common Australian 3-pin plug found in normal household outlets.
    • Gecko (Aeware) in.link style plugs are no longer available and must be modified.
